According to statistics released by the MIBOR REALTOR® Association, new listings are up again this month when compared to numbers from this time last year. A Look at Housing Stats
There were 332 residential, single-family homes sold during the month of October in Johnson County. This number up from the 330 sold last month and the 308 sold in October 2017.
The median listing price was $187,900. This amount is up from the $164,500 in October 2017.
There were 199 residential, single-family homes sold during the month of October in Greenwood. This number is showing a slight drop from the 205 sold last month, but shows an increase from the 168 sold in October 2017.
The median listing price was $218,700. This amount is up from the $185,000 in October 2017.
What Does this Data Mean?
November began with a total of 1,162 single-family homes listed without an offer in Johnson County, which is down slightly from last year’s 1,167. There were 671 single-family homes listed without an offer in Greenwood, which is down from the 673 in October 2017.
For the market to be considered balanced, there would need to be a 6 months supply of inventory available on the real estate market.
What does this mean for home buyers?
Johnson County had 376 new listings in October, which is just up by 77 units from last year’s 299. Greenwood had 219 new listings. This number is up from the 177 new listings this same time last year.
